ABOUT ME

Hailey Madramootoo is a cinematographer, editor, and filmmaker born and raised in Connecticut, who has been capturing moments and telling stories through the lens of a camera ever since she was a kid. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Digital Media Design, with a concentration in film and video production, at the University of Connecticut. With a keen eye for cinematography and a passion for authenticity, Hailey crafts films that resonate with themes of growing up, change, and the nuanced experiences of being young in today’s world.

Her cinematic vision is profoundly influenced by acclaimed coming-of-age films such as Aftersun, The Florida Project, and Moonlight to name a few. These inspirations are reflected in Hailey's work, where she enjoys bringing to life real, relatable stories that capture the essence of mundane, slice-of-life struggles.

Hailey’s filmmaking goal is simple yet sincere: to move audiences emotionally and foster a sense of connection. Through the raw nature of her themes and the vulnerability of her narratives, she ensures that viewers not only witness but also emotionally engage with the experiences she depicts. By doing so, Hailey aims to create a cinematic space where everyone can find a reflection of their own story.
