The ENd
Narrative Short Film
Artist Statement
The End is a coming-of-age short film that follows best friends Willow and Max, two overwhelmed college seniors navigating the pressures of their impending futures. When Max convinces Willow to take a hallucinogenic drug, they embark on a surreal journey that leads them to believe they have only one day left to live. This experience propels them into a chaotic night of seizing the moment, forcing them to confront their fears and insecurities about life after college.
Echoing themes present in much of my previous work, The End delves into the truth of expectations, social pressure, friendship, and identity, portraying the nuanced journey of self-discovery in our ever-changing society. I want my film to resonate with anyone navigating their own path, serving as an authentic representation of the highs and lows of contemporary youth. Ultimately, The End is a heartfelt tribute to my generation, embracing the uncertainty of life and the power we each have to define our own futures.
