On her podcast, “I Hate My Birthday Podcast”, Karmen discusses growing up, maturing, and the feeling of becoming a “real” adult after turning 20 years old.​ The podcast immediately resonated with me. The title alone pulls you in because it is curious yet so relatable. Birthdays are weird and special just like life and emerging adulthood. Karmen’s podcast encapsulates and gives a platform to those associated feelings, emotions, and thoughts, to be discussed freely and honestly. I wanted to make a trailer that envelops all of these ideas and is a cool visual introduction and expression of them.
